I have Pure-O / harm OCD / religious OCD — does this work for my form?+

Yes. LAR Coaching works on the underlying anxious response, not on the specific theme. We have coached clients through every recognised subtype — including Pure-O, harm OCD, contamination, religious scrupulosity, relationship OCD, sexual orientation OCD, and somatic OCD — with the same evidence-based approach.

Will I have to deliberately expose myself to my worst thoughts?+

No. LAR Coaching does not use ERP. Many people we coach have already tried ERP and found it too distressing to continue. Recovery here happens by settling the anxious response itself, so the thoughts naturally lose their power.

Do I have to come off my medication first?+

No. Many clients begin coaching while still on SSRIs or other medication. Decisions about reducing or stopping are made between you and your prescribing doctor — never by us — and most people find that question becomes easier to answer as recovery progresses.

How long does OCD recovery typically take?+

Many clients report meaningful relief within the first weeks of consistent practice. Long-standing or severe cases often take longer, and individual results vary considerably. Your coach will give you a realistic, personal picture from the first call rather than a one-size-fits-all promise.

I'm in the United States — can I still work with a coach?+

Yes. LAR coaches see clients across the USA daily by Zoom, phone and FaceTime. Sessions are scheduled to suit your time zone. LAR Coaching is the same, worldwide.

What does it cost?+

Personal coaching is priced based on the package that fits your situation — fees and availability are shared on your free intro call so you can make a calm, informed decision. A self-directed online programme is also available from £177.

What if it doesn't work for me?+

Recovery requires you to engage with the programme — there is no passive cure for OCD.
