The constant worry can stop.
Permanently.
If your mind has been running on a loop of worry for months — or years — there is a calm, evidence-based way out. Personal recovery coaching from the team that built the LAR method.
Does this sound like your day?
Take a quiet moment. Read these slowly. There is no judgement here — only recognition.
- Worry that jumps from one thing to the next — money, health, family, work — and never quite switches off.
- A tight chest, a churning stomach, jaw clenching you only notice when someone points it out.
- "What if" thoughts that play on repeat, especially at 3am.
- Tiredness that sleep doesn't fix, because the mind never really rested.
- Decisions that used to be easy now feel paralysing.
- A quiet sense that something is wrong — even when, on paper, everything is fine.
If even three of these resonate, you are not broken. Your nervous system is over-responding — and it can be reset.
Why other approaches haven't resolved it
You may have tried several things already. Here is why none of them reached the root.
CBT manages the thoughts
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy teaches you to argue with worries — a useful skill that genuinely helps many people. If you have found the worries keep returning, it can be because the underlying anxious response itself has not settled.
Medication takes the edge off
Medication is the right choice for many people, particularly in acute periods, and we never recommend stopping it on your own. It is not designed to recover the underlying disorder; decisions about reducing or continuing are always between you and your prescribing doctor.
Mindfulness teaches you to live with it
Mindfulness and acceptance are genuinely valuable life skills. If you want more than coping, the LAR method approaches things from a different angle — working with the anxious response itself rather than around it.
LAR Coaching works at the root — resetting the over-reactive anxiety response itself — so the symptoms have nothing left to feed on.
Your recovery path — three calm steps
No exposure. No homework that re-traumatises you. No medication required.

Recovery, not just coping
As the over-reactive anxiety response settles, the worry quiets. Many clients report meaningful change within the first weeks of consistent practice. Timelines vary by individual.
GAD-7 anxiety scores fell from a mean of 18.28 to 2.84.
An independent evaluation of the Linden Method, run via NHS Shropshire; data analysed by Martin Jensen at Kingston University and the University of Copenhagen. Wilcoxon Z = -6.802, p < .001. n = 61.

Within six weeks of starting LAR coaching, I had a morning where my first thought was about breakfast — not about my heart, my children, or whether I was about to die. Your questions, answered honestly
How long does GAD recovery typically take?+
Many clients report meaningful relief within the first weeks of consistent practice. Severe or long-standing cases often take longer, and individual results vary considerably. Your coach will give you a realistic, personal picture from the first call rather than a one-size-fits-all promise.
Do I have to come off my medication first?+
No. Many clients begin coaching while still on SSRIs or other anxiety medication. Decisions about reducing or stopping medication are made between you and your prescribing doctor — never by us — and most people find that question becomes easier to answer as recovery progresses.
Is this CBT or exposure therapy?+
Neither. LAR Coaching is a proprietary recovery system developed by Charles Linden in 1996. It does not use thought-challenging, exposure exercises, or homework that re-traumatises you. It works by resetting the over-reactive anxiety response itself.
I'm in the United States — can I still work with a coach?+
Yes. LAR coaches see clients across the USA daily by Zoom, phone and FaceTime. Sessions are scheduled to suit your time zone. LAR Coaching is the same, worldwide.
What does it cost?+
Personal coaching is priced based on the package that fits your situation — fees and availability are shared on your free intro call so you can make a calm, informed decision. A self-directed online programme is also available from £177.
What if it doesn't work for me?+
Recovery requires you to engage with the programme — there is no passive cure for anxiety. Our 60-day money-back guarantee applies to online programme memberships purchased on or after 27 April 2026, considered after 30 days have lapsed and on evidence of meaningful engagement (60%+ access of the member area). Memberships purchased before 27 April 2026 were sold under our previous policy and do not carry the 60-day money-back guarantee. Personal coaching outcomes are discussed openly with your coach throughout.
