Lady Jemma Mornington & Supermodel sister Jodie Kidd

Jemma & Jodie Kidd

Jemma Kidd who is better known now as Lady Mornington is wife of the future Duke of Wellington, Arthur Earl of Mornington and sister to supermodel Jodie Kidd. Jemma has her own make-up line used by industry professionals around the world and her Jemma Kidd School of Beauty and Make-up in London.

Both Jemma and Jodie used The Linden Method to overcome their anxiety and panic attacks. Jemma also referred Vogue USA Fashion Editor and four times best selling novelist, Plum Sykes to The Linden Method following her own success with the program, who also subsequently recovered. Jemma also attended The Anxiety Recovery Retreat after her recovery in order to learn more about TLM and to cement her recovery.

“We suffered from crippling anxiety and panic attacks and probably half my friends do too. Jodie and I both used The Linden Method having found Charles Linden’s website on the internet. The programme was the answer we had been looking for. Anyone suffering from high anxiety or panic really should use The Linden Method, it really helped us to be panic free. We want to help other sufferers to recover and send out the message that anxiety conditions are curable, despite what some may say.”

About Jemma

Jemma Madeleine Wellesley, Countess of Mornington, née Kidd (born 20 September 1974 in Guildford), is an English countess, a make up artist, and a fashion model.

Jemma is the second child of Johnny and Wendy Madeline Hodge Kidd, the daughter of Sir John Rowland Hodge, 2nd Baronet. Jemma is also a paternal great-granddaughter of the newspaper baron Lord Beaverbrook who founded “The Daily Express”. The sister of international supermodel Jodie Kidd, Jemma led a successful career as a fashion model in her own right before discovering a new calling as a make-up artist. In 2003, Jemma opened her own “Make-up School” in London, and a cosmetics line of the same name was launched in 2006 and is available in the UK (in Boots), America, Australia, Hong Kong, and Canada. She is married to Arthur Wellesley, Earl of Mornington, elder son and heir of the Marquess of Douro (himself eldest son and heir apparent of the Duke of Wellington). Their wedding took place at St James Church in Barbados on 4 June 2005. On 12 September 2009, the couple announced they are expecting twins due in January 2010. Lady Mornington gave birth to twins on January 4, 2010; a girl Mae Madeline and a boy Arthur Darcy, who takes the courtesy title Viscount Wellesley. The twins were born in early January at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

About Jodie

Jodie is the granddaughter from Hon. Janet Gladys Aitken’s (1908–1988) third marriage (1942) to Major Thomas Dealtry Kidd. Jodie’s mother, Wendy Madeleine Kidd (née Hodge), is the daughter of Sir John Rowland Hodge, 2nd Baronet and runs the Holders Festival on Barbados. Jodie’s father is British businessman and former showjumper John Edward Aitken Kidd, himself a maternal grandson of the first Lord Beaverbrook. Jodie has an elder sister, Jemma Kidd (b. 1974), who married Arthur Gerald Wellesley, Earl of Mornington, grandson of the Duke of Wellington, in June 2005. She has a brother, the Polo player Jack Kidd (b. 1973), who is married and has several children.

Career

Jodie was aged 15 when she was discovered by photographer Terry O’Neil whilst on a beach in Barbados. Her modelling career began when he introduced her to model agent Laraine Ashton, so Jodie began modeling at 16 and soon caused an uproar. Accusations were made that promotion of her slender figure encouraged teenage girls to become anorexic when they tried to mimic her looks. Jodie modeled with the biggest and best in the industry from Capellino to Chanel, Ernesto Esposito to Fendissime, Gai Mattiolo to Ghost, Lagerfeld to Malhas, Monsoon to Motorola and also featured in campaigns for Chloé ‘Innocence’ perfume and Yves Saint Laurent. Add to that being the cover girl for Elle magazine in Australia, Italy, Portugal, Singapore, Sweden and the United States.

Jodie Kidd is also a unique example of the multi-skilling modern day woman, fusing the worlds of designer fashion and glamorous sports together. During an eight month break in modelling Jodie added weight to her tall and lanky frame, transforming it and becoming a healthy size eight. Jodie’s magazine covers include Elle in America, Portugal, Italy, Singapore and Sweden, British Vogue, The Face and Comme des Garçons amongst many others.

A place where someone can go to not only gather the vital life changing tools that I did, but also an opportunity to listen to others and for the first time not feel like it was just me and I wasn’t going mad.
